A Message from the Wardens
Almighty and everliving God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon him our nature, and to suffer death upon the cross, giving us the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering, and also share in his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who Lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. (Collect for Passion Sunday)
Dear Members and Friends of the Congregation of Saint Saviour,
We have entered into Holy Week and, after moving Palm Sunday services, our minds are set towards Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil followed by the “pull-out-all-the stops” of Easter Sunday, April 1!
Easter Meal
Cathedral Community Cares will serve a special Easter meal that day. Your donations will help provide a healthy, festive meal for our neighbors and friends. Contributions of cooked chickens, hams, gravy, pies, cookies or festively-dyed eggs can be dropped off at the Cathedral Undercroft before 9:45 AM. Let’s share the joy!

Maundy Thursday All Night Vigil, March 29 – Please Join Us!
A very moving part of Holy Week is the all-night vigil in the Baptistery after the Maundy Thursday service. People are welcome to come throughout the night and spend an hour in silence and prayer before the reserved Sacrament. Ideally, we want to make sure there is someone in the Baptistry at all times throughout the night, but also not so many that it becomes crowded. If you plan to participate in this vigil please email the wardens (wardens@saintsaviour.org) and let us know when you would like to be present.
The Ministry of Hospitality
Thank you to those of you who have reached out. Ushering is a great way to get to know our community, and to help welcome strangers and pilgrims from near and far. You can also learn about the other guilds and the crucial role they play in our liturgy and community. We are always in need of ushers, both for regular Sunday services, and for the big occasions like Holy Week.
If you feel a calling to participate, you can commit at whatever level feels comfortable – one, twice, three times a month, only for big holidays, etc. Please see Tim for further information or email wardens@saintsaviour.org.
Easter Sunday
Even if you have passes, remember to arrive at the Cathedral no later than 10:25 AM. After 10:30 AM, the passes are no longer honored, and the general public will begin filling in the seats in the Crossing. If you arrive late, even with your passes, it is very likely you will be sitting close to the Amsterdam Avenue doors!
On the March!
Members of the Congregation gathered with Bishop Dietsche before setting off on the March for our Lives on March 24. About 90 members of Diocesan parishes met up in the cathedral before setting off on the march.
Joining the Cathedral’s Congregation (The Congregation of Saint Saviour)
We know that some of you have been part of our community for years and have never taken the step to become a congregation member. The single requirement to become a member is to be a baptized Christian. To join the congregation you fill out the new member form which is on the Congregation’s website (www.saintsaviour.org) on the “I’m new” page or you can fill out the paper version. If you wish to be baptized, a conversation with clergy will help you on your way. If all of this is just TOO MUCH, that’s okay, too. We are just so happy to have you be part of our community.
Wishing you all a Joyous Easter,
Tim Dwyer and Marsha Ra
