A Message from the Wardens

Almighty God, who through your only-begotten Son Jesus Christ overcame death and opened to us the gate of everlasting life: Grant that we, who celebrate with joy the day of the Lord’s resurrection, may be raised from the death of sin by your life-giving Spirit: through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. (Collect for Easter Day)
 
Dear Members and Friends of the Congregation of Saint Saviour,

Your Wardens wish you all a blessed Eastertide.  We have had an intense and wonderful Holy Week, a moving Easter Vigil and a glorious Easter Sunday with thousands of visitors.  We saw so many of you at the various services, including some who have moved away but still come back for Easter.  What a joy to greet one another and to savor the many memories shared.  Now, on this snowy quiet morning we can consider the extended Easter season, looking forward to six additional Sundays of Easter at our beloved Cathedral, but at a slower pace.  Thanks to all the liturgical volunteers whose long hours and hard work made these and all services so special.  Thanks to Lisa Chin, Phyllis Murray and the whole events committee for the splendid reception for the newly baptized and confirmed after the Easter Vigil. We are indeed a blessed community to worship in such a great space with such great staff and with one another.

Second Sunday Fellowship April 8

After the 11:00 a.m. service, come over to Cathedral House for an extended coffee hour (it’s really lunch!) to greet old friends and make new ones.  Remember that every Sunday each of us should be looking out for unfamiliar faces or those who sit alone. Make a point of greeting them during the Peace and invite them to our coffee hour or Second Sunday meal.  Let us live the warm words of greeting Dean Daniel imparts each Sunday.

Cathedral Community Cares (CCC) collection for April

Thank you all who brought food for the Easter dinner at CCC Easter Sunday.  It was a wonderful feast. Our weekly collection now continues with what Thomas Perry, the CCC manager, calls “spring cleaning” which is basically a clothing drive for coats and sweaters.  Donations should be clean and ready to wear.  Leave as always at the table near the coffee set up.  THANK YOU.
