Today at 11:00 AM on the steps of the Cathedral, we will offer a Rite in Defiance of Darkness as a way to mark what happened last Sunday afternoon and to reclaim this sacred space. The Bishop and the Dean will lead the brief liturgy, which was composed by Sub Dean Malloy. It will be recorded to play during this Sunday's service. All are invited. If you are unable to attend, please consider offering a prayer or a moment of silence at 11:00 AM.

Congregation of Saint Saviour 2021 Budget at a Glance

Below are general notes regarding Tuesday's vestry meeting and the budget that was passed.

At Tuesday's meeting of the Vestry, a roughly $235,000 balanced budget for 2021 was passed. It takes into account expected incomes for the new year and adjusted programmatic spending for a year that will, at least in part, be in COVID-19 conditions.

The main source of revenue continues to be generous donations from members of the congregation, but the Vestry has also opted to withdraw a sum from savings to ensure that vital mission and outreach work can continue to meet community needs in 2021. The expense budget is dominated by the Cathedral cost share, and is grouped in four broad categories: Connect (purple), Explore (green), Serve (gold), and Administrative (blue). To ensure funding and flexibility of fellowship programs like OPUS and YESS, the finance committee recommended grouping them into one "fellowship" budget line.

Thank you and congratulations to the finance committee for this budget. As always, there will be opportunity for discuss at the annual meeting in February.
