This Sunday is Saint Francis Day and the Blessing of the Animals, a day of music, prayer, joy, blessings and fun in honor of Saint Francis, the patron saint of animals and the environment.
The Feast of St. Francis and Blessing of the Animals is a beloved Cathedral tradition. This year, the celebration once more returns to the Nave after two years of virtual and physically-distanced services. Join us for worship, dance, and music in honor of St. Francis, patron of the environment and ecology.
While this year's service will not include a procession of animals, all attendees are invited to bring their pets and animal companions to be blessed by Cathedral clergy outside on the Pulpit Green following the service. Stay for an afternoon of fun activities and info about environmental initiatives and climate justice! The afternoon fair will be held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, activities and pet blessings will move inside Synod House.
Passes are now available! Please note, there is a limit of four passes per person, to accommodate as many guests as possible for this special service.
