Every year, worship at the Episcopal Church inhabits the greater life of Jesus - the foretelling of his arrival, his birth, his teachings, his death, resurrection, and ascension. Such a schedule may seem par for the course, but, as Pat Malloy will show us, the historical development of the calendar was (and is) quite complicated: vociferous theological debates, schisms, and acts of religious appropriation also shaped the calendar of Christ’s worship.
This 4-5 week exploration of the liturgical year is being offered by Pat Malloy who previously taught at General Theological Seminary, receiving his PhD from Notre Dame. Currently Sub-Dean of the Cathedral Church of St John the Divine, Rev, Dr. Malloy’s lively lectures and engaging Power Point presentations make for fascinating learning.
